Recommend a new chair for me.

I Just sold my Herman Miller chair and I am in need of a replacement, so could you make a few recommendations for me? American Made chairs are a real plus+++.

I used to know the alternatives, but it's been several years since I even bothered to look for a chair. I sold my Herman Miller because it did not fit me properly and caused my back to hurt.

i alternate between the Liberty (as above) and the Mirra. like the Liberty's back, but prefer the open-mesh of the Mirra's bottom (less sweaty for the butt!)

i think office chairs are among the biggest scams in the world. no way a chair of decent comfort should cost 700$+

the best chair i have ever owned is a discontinued model from wal-mart. it cost $69 or 79. it was great.

to bad it fell out of my truck when moving =(

The one at my local Wal-Mart is a rebranded Lane (brand) leather chair

Haha, you sold a chair in the $700 price range, and now you're asking for a replacement, and get all freaked out by $700 price tags? Are you sure the chair you sold was a Herman Miller chair?

Just because it cost $700 does not mean that it's good.

People come in all shapes and sizes, I am not the only one to find that brand uncomfortable.

You can get the Humanscale Liberty for under $700 shipped, I'll be ordering one in a few weeks, and that's a reasonable price to pay for me considering how much time I spend on my computer.

If you're looking for something much cheaper, I suggest visiting your local Costco and looking at the chairs they have there. They usually carry a number of office chairs from $100-200 that are of pretty decent quality.

1. I bought the chair used.
2. I am not willing to shell out a big buck a second time for a chair only to find out over time that I do not like it. I made one mistake, so I am not about to repeat it.
3. I'd rather get something more reasonably priced and not worry about it.
4. When Sam Walton died, at the time he was the richest man in the word yet he drove a very old and basic pick up truck. Bill Gates drives a 20 year old Porsche and Steve Balmer drives a 1996 Lincoln.
