How far is that from Tempe?

Depends on time of day and how long it takes you to get from wherever you are in Tempe to I-10. I'm right off the I-10 on the Tempe/Phoenix border across the street from South Mountain. It took me about 25 minutes with light traffic to get over to Adul's place in Avondale last night. I would imagine that during rush hour and all the congestion around the I-10/I-17 interchanges that could go up to close to an hour in the worst of traffic.

we lived in Miami for a year and I could not for the life of me figure out why everyone thinks it's a great place to live... the crime rate is high, traffic sucks, the hurricanes are a pain, and the public school system makes some African banana republics look good... how many times can you go to south beach ???

Great Falls, MT. Not quite "moderate" weather, but low cost of living, its near Malmstrom AFB, outdoor recreation within max 2 hours drive in any direction you want. Plus you get to live in the best state in the US .
