My current portable grill is literally on it's last legs and it's time to upgrade to something a little beefier. Looking for a recommendation from the ATOT crew.

I think I've narrowed it down to the Weber Q200 and the Charbroil Grill2Go.

Gas is definitely a requirement, this is for tailgating/camping/etc and no one has the patience or sobriety for charcoal. I'm a big Weber fan and my regular home grill is a Weber so that's a plus for the Q but I think CharBroil is still a decent name. I like the cart that comes with the CharBroil, you can get something similar for the Q but it's more $$ and the reviews seem pretty crappy. I know a bunch of people who have the Q and love them, I know a guy who had an older version of the CharBroil and he liked it but the paint started chipping and getting into the food. That was the older red one and they changed the design so I doubt it's a problem anymore.

Anyone have either? Thoughts?

I have the Weber Q with the rolling cart and have used it for tailgating at several pro/college football games and when we go camping. The grill is heavy duty and well made so you won't have to worry about it. The cart has held up well and I would definitely buy it again.

I'd go with a Traeger pellet grill. The one downside is you do need a small bit of power to run it but you could go a couple routes. Inverter from your car lighter, battery and inverter separate or small quiet gen set which could also run a fridge.

I have a Traeger and love the thing. They arent cheap and the wood pellets do add to the cost of ownership but its very, very easy to make very, very good food. Its all the taste of charcoal with all the ease of propane with all the temperature control of electric.

I have the Texas Style

And of course a pic....

Of the two you linked I would do the Weber I think.

Something like the Traeger is beyond what I'm trying to do here. This need to fit in a trunk.

Does it collapse like the CharBroil?

Weber Q

Weber >>>>>>>> CharBroil. Everyone knows this.

I have no experience with either, but having grilled on a wide variety of propane grills, nothing compares to a Weber (for the money).
