Recommend a storage device for sensitive data?

OK, I have some sensitive data I need to store, not much of it, but it needs to be password protected, etc. and portable, so I can take it around with me. A few gigabytes.

A few I have considered are:

- Lexar Jumpdrive TouchGuard (max 256MB?)
- Sony MicroVault Biometric (max 128MB?)
- SanDisk Cruzer Profile (too bulky)

Any other suggestions?

I have close to a year on my 1gb Verbatim flash drive . . seems to be doing alright . .

I have made it bootable for running Ghost sessions as well as BIOS updates and such. It gets used quite often and always carried around with me, typically in a pocket. I have ~800mb on the drive and it seems to all still be there. I like to keep commonly used drivers, apps, codecs, etc etc on it . . i also have a 2.5" drive enclosure but doesn't get used NEARLY as much simply due to lack of portability...and me not needing that much space (40gb). Its also a hassle to deal w/ the extra cables (2 usb connections in my case).

I personally think you'd be better off w/ a flash drive.. Most of them also come w/ software on them to "password protect" an area of the drive.

EDIT:
Also, if flash happens to 'scare' you, there are solid state flash sized USB drives as well in 2-4gb sizes readily available. Surely they've got some larger ones out by now.

I'd burn a couple of verified DVDs of your data for a safe backup and then you could use a good brand flash drive for your working copy. No problem to encrypt the data before copying it to any of those. Use the Eraser program to clean it off your HD once you're sure you have a couple of verified backups.

How often does that data get edited or changed in any way?

DVD stored in a safety deposit box id pretty simple... and without the risk of you losing encryption keys, or forgetting a password.
