So I'm not a fancy guy but a relative wants to buy me an heirloom watch, something I'd pass on to my kids. His max budget is $3k, suggestions? I like the look of tag heuer and omegas but, again, i know nada about watches.
This makes me seem really spoiled, but I assure you I'm not a bling kinda guy.
**update**
sorry for the long delay, just got back from torneaue, purchased a vintage omega seamaster in fantastic condition with a 2 year warranty - woot! I noticed an engraving that they need to buff out (or replace the backing), can't wait! My dad also brought along a zenith from his personal collection that they will be refurbishing and handing over to me, which is exciting since I've loved the watch since I was a kid. i honestly would have been happy with just that, but I'm learning not to turn down nice things, because I'm just renting them until I hand them over to my kids. The most ironic thing is that I'm scared to wear either on the NYC subway so will be locking them up and just ordered a $15 used HMT watch to wear as my daily driver, made in india like him.
