Recommend me a DSLR camera

It's got all the functions and its viewfinder is bigger and wider and uses better/more expensive viewfinder method(penta-prism than penta-mirror that is used in Rebel or D70) than D70 or Rebel.

I already have a DSLR and am considering that as my next camera.

Hauling around a DSLR is just too much work when travelling, you end up spending too much time setting up for shots and worrying about your equipement more than enjoying the culture or relaxing. Fine enough if that's what you want your vacations to center on but it's not for me. I already have a small carry around camera (Canon SD300) so now I'm in the market for a bigger all purpose lens camera.

A real fast portrait lens no doubt for one and a versatile zoom like the 17-85mm lens. I have the 50mm and the 17-85mm. The 50mm takes better pics but the 17-85 gets more use because of its flexibility. I think Sigma has a 17mm f/1.4 coming out. That lens looks very nice.

Best all purpose lens I bought for my Canon 300 is the Tamron 18-200 F/3.5-6.3 XR Di II lens. It is listed for $726 but I got it for $500. Great glass and specifically made for the digital cameras.

I bought one few weeks ago and I'm very happy with it

but if you plan on getting really into it and get extra lenses then I would suggest avoiding the kit lense. Yes it is decent but the lack of more zoom is extremely limiting, which is why I ordered a 18-200mm sigma yesterday

so expect to spend money on the camera and expect to spend a whole lot more on lenses

Hmmm...I was just getting ready to click the buy button on an A95 to replacing my aging A10. Do you think it would be wise to wait? Any ideas on how much the S2 IS would run?

I have both a 350XT and a D70 sitting here on my desk. They both take pretty much the same quality pics from what I have seen (might be limited by my ability) but I like the D70 size and feel more and I hate the XT interface in menu and buttons so the D70 was the best choice for me.

What were the settings for each pic? Apperture/Shutter speed? The D70 seems to be overexposed.

The first set was a F10 on aperature priority for both. The second set was full auto, whatever the camera wanted to use.

EDIT: Just checked the exif on the pics. They were all on full auto.
