depends what kinda games you like...

if you're into RPG's, I'd recomend Disgaea (it's getting hard to find, but there's a bunch of them for sale on e-bay and amazon... greatest turn-based strategy game since Shining Force). FFX-2 was pretty good, as was Xenosaga (as mentioned, there are a lot of movie sequences in Xenosaga, but the storyline is interesting enough that I didn't mind them).

Disgaea = best game evar

I just got it back from my sister (lent it to her almost 6 months ago), and I got sucked back in. I've been playing it almost non-stop... I can even get a few battles in while I'm getting dressed for work

Have you tried La Pucelle Tactics? Supposed to be better than Disgaea. I've never played any of the "tactics" style games but I do have Disgaea (just never played it)
