Okay, I've been going through blenders every 3-4 months. Someone recommend me a good one! I found one I like (used at professional smoothie places) - the Hamilton Beach Tempest - but it retails for $450. It's nearly $370 even on ebay. But it packs in 2 horsepower Since that's a little out of my pricerange for a quality blender, can someone recommend another good model?

How long do you guys think one of these $300+ commercial blenders would last? I'm ready to put some of my electronics up in the FS/FT forum if it'll last a long time...

I have an Oster blender. cost a little bit more, but it has a glass container rather than plastic. Had it for more than 10 years and it still works great.

I have tried a few different blenders, and the ones I like most are the KitchenAid Proline for $229 at William Sonoma, and the Vitamix for ~$400. Even though I like the Vitamix, I do not think it is worth the extra cost. I have tried a Waring blender in the same price range as the KitchenAid, but I highly prefer the KitchenAid. I make smoothies every day, and this one has not let me down. In short, buy the KitchenAid!

a guy at work was telling me he got a blender like this one and it worked great for ice/frozen stuff. I don't know if he got that exact one, but something similar. He did pay a good amt of $ though.

Are you referring to this KitchenAid? Why do you "highly prefer" the KitchenAid over the other ones?

Work out great- saw improvments in my gains after I started drinking them- uslaly use two scoops right after a workout so thats like 50g protein, almost no sugar. Then sometimes have one or two more thorugh out the day depending on my goals.

Arg! I don't WANT to have to return it multiple times though, I just want it to work! I think I'm going to get the KitchenAid Proline recommend earlier.

Ok, so I've decided that some people have WAY too much disposable income if they can spend $300-400 on just a blender.

(No offense, just an observation).

None taken I only work 10 hours a week because I'm a full-time college student, so it's not like I have $$ flowing out of my wallet; I actually found out recently that I'm allergic to wheat and having a blender is providing good sources of alternate foods that I can have. Unfortunately they keep breaking Yeah, $300 - $400 is way too much for me, but I think I can swing $230. No toys for awhile I guess
