Recommend me a Mobo

DDR2 please
Support up to 8 GB and 16 GB will be a plus (running lots of VM)
Intel Chipset Please (so many to choose from, don't know which one!)
Works well with linux - I don't want to spend days looking for drivers
Stable well known chipsets - please no weird SATA chipsets which may present driver problems for linux
No need for SLI or Crossfire, but 1 16x 2.0 PCIE, two would be nice

I use the asrock p45 ts-r, which is only $78 at newegg. They also have some asus boards with rebates right now. The p45 chipset works pretty well for one video card systems. Haven't tried it with 2.

Maybe a Gigabyte EP45-UD3R if you only need the one PCI-E 2.0 slot. About $105. Or if you have a need for Ultra TPM, Dual LAN, or Dolby Home Theater, the UD3P for a few bucks more (and crossfire capability). I've seen some favorable postings regarding the UD3R & Linux, but have no experience with it myself. I'm using a UD3P and they are both great P45 platforms.

Definitely go with Gigabyte EP45 UD3P. These boards have been getting high FSB speeds with the Q9550 in particular, taking them to 4.0ghz pretty easily.
