Don't look down on good old reliable Gordon's. A really good gin at half the price of the snooty brands and most of the people recommending the more expensive brands are too young to drink and only mentioning what they saw advertised in this month's Maxim.
Oh, a Capirinhia is very refreshing. Not terribly complicated, but does require effort. As manly as you would expect the manliness of the ave. Brazillian male.
:hmm:
....
Only made right with Cachaca, though, and not too many bars carry that.
I like the Tom Collins...I get mine made with New Amsterdam if they have it. Sapphire taste too juniper-y to me and I don't like it. My fall-back if they don't have New Amsterdam is a vodka collins.
Ask 'em for a Singapore Sling...it's manly ()
yep. Just don't order Sapphire, though.
:hmm:
Don't worry about whether or not a cocktail is manly. Instead, if you like it, drink it. If someone questions whether or not a girly drink, asset that the fact that you are drinking it makes it manly.
IDGAF what people think about the drink I have in my hand (ok, I will admit that you'll never catch me with a Zima...). The only reason to worry about it is if you're not confident enough with your own self-image anyway, and that's what you should work on first.
Oh, I don't give a slightest crap how 'manly' people think I am. I can be caught drinking a wine cooler for all I care.
My word usage of 'manly' is because I never liked cocktails at bars that all seem to be sweet. So I'm asking for a non-sweet cocktail = manly.
Appletini

I raise you with my female friend's fav drink - Chocotini. OR Lycheetini.
rusty nail, if you love Scotch.
I like simple, Goose&Sprite.
satay at the long bar with a cold sling is one of life's little pleasures.Just don't get it in Singapore. God Damn their alcohol tax is ridiculous.
why are you putting a sweet wheated bourbon in a manhattan? The Manhattan (on the rocks) is my cocktail of choice. Maker's Mark is the usual bourbon I select. I don't know that I'd call it "refreshing" per se, but it is a tasty and (imho) manly cocktail.
that's a kangaroo cocktail, not a martini.Barf-o-rama
Vodka only, just whisper the word vermouth over the shaker, shake and strain. Serve with a rinsed olive so that it doesn't overpower the vodka with olive juice. Oh, and fill the shaker all the way with ice. Do not let the booze sit in the shaker. Once you pour, shake immediately and vigorously and strain into cocktail glass right away.
the second is amazing if done right. yes, it taste like a flower. it's manly because it has a fucking raw egg in it.two that come to mind are:
Mint Julep
Ramos Gin Fizz (only order this one at a good cocktail bar that's willing to shake the drink for a loooong time)
I like screwdrivers and I think they're sufficiently manly.
