Recommend me a USB 3.0 SATA & IDE dock?

Been looking for one of these as I'm about to get rid of my only PC with IDE capability. I do a lot of fix jobs for coworkers/friends/etc and I really need to have capability to work with IDE drives. Even using the old PC is less than optimal for this, so I'm just using a rigged up cable pair run through a PCI slot right now.

Problem is that all the docks I've seen that fit the title description either have horrid reviews or are ridiculously expensive for what they are. I'm not one to shy away from a product for a few bad reviews, but it just seems like some of these docks have overwhelmingly negative experiences.

If you have one you're happy with, please share. Or if you know of another method that may prove useful for my purposes, I'm all ears

But . . . it is expensive. BTW - all spindle drives are IDE - some are serial (SATA) and some are parallel (PATA.) PATA drives are not hot pluggable. You might consider cabling options. And, it might just be worthwhile to clone all PATA drives to SATA ones and simplify the problem.

I meant PATA not IDE. Bad wording on my part.

It will mostly be used to recover data from PATA drives on people's computers that aren't fixable or there's no other option but to hook up the drive to another computer for backup/data pulls. All my personal drives are SATA, but I always get these old PC's from people that are from the stone age and I'm asked to do what I can with them.

Parallel ATA and IDE are the same.

And, SATA also has IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics.)
