We used to drink Prairie Fires back in the restaurant days. A shot of Fireball with a teaspoon of Tabasco on top. One or two was ok, but after three it was heartburn city.
By the way I bought a bottle of Blanton's the other day. Decent Bourbon, but it's no Bookers, or even Woodford really.

We always made Prairie Fires with tequila and Tabasco; vile drink. Fun trick to pull on a friend though.
And I'm surprised you prefer Woodford to Blanton's. I like the sharpness of Blanton's; Woodford seems too sweet and mellow for my palate. Booker's is a class apart until you get into the super high-end stuff though.
I always keep Bookers in my cabinet; it is by far my favourite. There is something about the Woodford I really enjoy, I'm not even exactly sure what it is; just the smoothness of it I guess. It is definitely a different experience but the Blanton's just tasted a little bland to me. I still have a most of a bottle, or orb or whatever you'd call it, so maybe it will grow on me, but it's not one I would be rushing to buy again at this point.

My wife does too.I put this in a glass with a few cubes of ice and sip it like a bad ass:
I'm on a Templeton rye kick right now. That or Elijah Craig if I just want to sit and sip something. Evan Williams if I'm out for a buzz.
I might be confusing Blanton's with Baker's or Basil Hayden's; I had a flight of all three somewhere and one of them was distinctly underwhelming, but I don't remember which. There are far too many "B" bourbons, and that shit gets confusing when you're drinking.
There are others that are good, but this is what I drink. I buy about 3-4 liters a year...so I'm not a big drinker of the stuff. For the holidays, it's 100% by far the best whiskey to mix lightly with egg nog and makes the best bread pudding you've ever had.
Maker's Mark is the only bourbon I've had in recent memory where I actually didn't like it....and I regularly buy handles of Evan Williams.I enjoy Makers Mark a lot. it's not to expensive yet pretty good.
