Actually titled "Young and Dangerous." They also have a 6th movie, titled "Born to Be King."

I enjoyed the series and watched it about 3 times already.

Its an HK gangster movie series.

Xiu Xiu sent down girl 95% good too, but yi yi is better.. obviously

"better luck tomorrow" is asian, if not foriegn.

I think Kelly Chen was in "And I hate you so" which I hated. At first I thought she would be hot but she has this goofy blank expression that I didn't like -- so I don't think she's all that.

Das Boot is awesome. It's easily the best submarine movie I've ever seen (haven't seen Red October, though)

saw Eat Drink Man Woman on Bravo a few weeks ago. Very good movie.

Run Lola Run probably in my top 5 favorite movies.

The foreign movies that I tend to watch have been Indian movies. Unfortunately, I can't recommend a particular one 'cuz it's been years since I last watched any. The new Indian movies that I saw were trash. Or maybe I've outgrown "Bollywood" kind of movies.

The most recent foreign movie that I saw was African and based on a true story, so it was interesting. Hopefully some of the foreign movies recommended in this thread can make me like foreign movies again.

Ok, all those suggestions? Forget them until you have watched The Seven Samurai.
THE best movie to EVER come out of Japan, if not all of asia.

i'm not sure if anyone mentioned this movie, since i didn't read thru all the replies... but a movie i enjoyed watching was The Audition. for it to be effective, you should watch it at night, in darkness. it's not gory or anything, but it's spine-chilling similar to Ringu.

perhaps not in the Friday the 13th kind of way it isn't.....

right, that's what i meant.

for non-foreign horror/gore movie, i highly recommend Evil Dead. that has to be one of the scariest/goriest movies of all time.

The Mifune "Samurai" trilogy was also good if you like samurai movies though the portrayal of Mushashi Miyamoto is as almost an antihero. Seven Samurai was definitely more fun and Chushingura was more noble (but be warned it's slow).
