Another vote for Epox 8KHA+ again very easy to setup and great on stability.

From what I've been reading the Soltek SL75DRV2 sounds like a good option.

Might try one myself.

Wait for the EPoX 8KHA2 if you can. It will be a sure-fire kick-ass board when it comes out. One of the major flaws in the VIA KT266A boards is that it can be retrofitted into an existing board with a KT266 Northbridge. It works out well, though designing a totally new board for this chipset helps. The next EPoX 8KHA2 will be totally redesigined with a new PCB layout and onboard RAID for a total of 4 EIDE Slots. It also supports the ATA/133 for the largest in capacity harddisks along with faster data transfers. It will be a great board, thats for sure.

sorry to hijack a little bit of this thread, but what would you recommend for a dual-Athlon-2000 mainboard?

goog,
i've been looking at the tyan tiger mpx actually. haven't looked at any soltek boards. would like something with onboard scsi if possible (or onboard lan. either would save me a much-needed pci slot). does the mpx still have the pci bus issues, whereby putting a 33MHz pci device on the 66 bus will default the bus to 33MHz..?

from anand's article:

<< This 64-bit/66MHz PCI bus supports up to two 32/64-bit PCI devices that operate at either 33 or 66MHz. Now if you stick a 32-bit/33MHz device in one of those slots the bus will default to a 32-bit/33MHz operating mode which obviously ruins the benefits of the bus. Similarly, a 64-bit/33MHz PCI device will reduce the operating frequency of that bus to 33MHz. >>

Looks like I'm falling behind in the dual world. :frown:
Soltek doesn't make a dually AMD. AMD MPX mobos from Abit, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, Epox, and Tyan are all planned. I've only found info on about four of these and none have scsi onboard though most have lan (Intel in some cases).
My interpretation of Anand's article is that if you put a 32/33 card in a 64/66 slot it will revert to 32/33, but if you don't all is fine.

A vote here for the ASUS A7V266E. Great performance, stability, and reliability. But then again, everyone is going to say that abou the motherboard they own. I suggest you go out and look at some reviews.

<< Wow! Not a single vote for the Soyo Dragon+? >>

I was thinking the same thing! I thought this would have been the number one choice.

No Soyo a recent article that a lot of people have not talked about.

I am looking at buying a Dragon Plus, but a recent on line article claims this board does not work well with GF3 Ti500 video card.

Lost Circuits had this complaint about Soyo Dragon Plus

http://www.lostcircuits.com/motherboard/soyo_k7v/6.shtml

"Compatibility

The first setup of the Dragon Plus used the MSI 8822 Starforce (GeForce3) and everything was working flawlessly. For benchmarking purposes, I replaced the MSI adapter with the ASUS V8200 T5 (Ti500) with the result that most D3D applications would either freeze immediately or else run at about 1/10 of the expected speed. Interestingly, in the BIOS setup, only AGP x 2 was available as soon as the Ti500 was installed. A few format c: and reinstallations of
the OS and drivers later, Soyo released a new BIOS which partially solved the problem. That is, AGP x4 is now available for the Ti500 and the performance is markedly improved. That doesn't really mean, though, that the card is working correctly. Most users might not necessarily notice the issues but for reference, some numbers are posted below. "

Has anybody noticed the same problem. They used windows 98SE and 2000 Professional.
