Recommend some country music

Ok folks, I recently learned that I really, really like country music. Spent the past three days playing Johnny Cash, Patsy Kline and Loretta Lynn albums 24/7.

That said, I grew up in a household where classical music and oldies were the norm. So I missed out on this enormous and varied genre of music. Thus, I would appreciate some recommendations. So, name your top 2 country songs, one current (1990-present), and one "classic" (pre 1990).

Well you already got Johnny Cash. Marty Robbins has been mentioned. Willie Nelson and some Dolly Parton songs are really all that's left. With an exceptional song here and there the rest of country music is pretty much garbage. It's really unfortunate too as there are some extremely talented musicians who waste their talents making country garbage.

Edit: John Denver is good when he sticks to the more folky/pop songs. Traditional bluegrass is okay too.
