Recommend some games for girlfriend

I'm looking for some games for the PS3 that my girlfriend may like. She's not a gamer at all, so I'm hoping for some easy going games for her and I to leisurely play through, either cooperatively or competitively. I play most of my games on the PC, so I don't really keep up with all the latest 'cool' release on the PS3.

I've heard Little Big Planet 2 has cooperative, but does that include cooperative on all of the single player campaign? The reviews for this game has been positive so far, but I'm a bit jaded by all the overzealous reviewers. I saw some videos of the game and it seems a bit floaty in the physics, like the game is running on slow motion. Anyone has this games can give me their thoughts on it?

I just bought my PS3, and it came with little big planet 2. So far the physics seem smooth. I haven't played co-op yet, but the game handles pretty good.

My GF is not a gamer, but she enjoyed playing co-op in Little Big Planet (1). She likes Guitar Hero also.

Right now, we are playing the PS2 game "The Adventures of Cookie and Cream." It is a 2-player co-op game, but it is a bit difficult for her. It's a lot of fun trying to figure out how to get through each level.

So far, no compatibility problems on my PS3 80GB (Metal Gear Solid edition).

Someday, I hope to get her to the point where she will enjoy playing Army of Two.

Does anyone know that you can play cooperatively on all 40 of the campaign missions in Little Big Planet 2?

You should be able to. You could drop in and out as you pleased on the first. And even if you couldn't do every single mission, which you should, it wouldn't hurt you to sit out a level and watch her play it.

I tried C&C with my wife, it was frustrating for both of us since it wasn't hard for me and was for her. It would be me doing my part and then waiting for her to catch up and do hers. When I found myself playing for her, I realized it wouldn't end well and we never tried again. I had pulled it out when my brother was over and we were just breezing through it.
She did better with the Wii and could keep up with the high scores for that Zelda shooting game.
I introduced her to Flower on the PS3 but at this point she has no time for games. She rather watch tv during her down time.

For disc-based games, my fiancée and I have enjoyed the Lego series of games and Little Big Planet 1 and 2. You can play all levels coop in LBP.

There's also much more stuff available for download on PSN that is GF-friendly. She really enjoys Super Puzzle Fighter II, PixelJunk Monsters, and Castle Crashers. All three I HIGHLY recommend.

Trine and Lara Croft (there's a PSN specific one that's nothing like the renowned Lara Croft games - look into it) were fun coop ones, but they were both a tad too involved for her to enjoy for long. Your mileage may vary on these two.

Honorable mention - PixelJunk Shooter, Peggle, ModNation Racers and Flower (single player but female friendly and fun to watch others play).

Get Borderlands man, my girlfriend wasn't really a gamer (had played some NES games when she was younger) but I got her to play Siren in Borderlands in co-op with me and now she owns my PS3. I literally cannot get her to stop playing some nights (she moved on to Fallout 3 GotY after we beat Borderlands).

Sorry to hear that. I would prefer an "easy" difficulty setting for that game, or at least an option to turn off the penalty-time-bird. My GF enjoyed Boom Blox for the Wii too. Maybe try that?

World of Keflings is a fun co-op game. For something a bit more action-y (but still not that trying) try Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light, an isometric co-op shooter.

Seconded on PixelJunk Monsters. I can't even remember how many hours I spent on co-op mode trying to get all the rainbows.
