nvm.. it loaded.

the one you photoshopped on looks pretty sweet.
17's would be over doign it tho.
why not just get some decent 15's ?

I thought about getting 18's for my car, but too many potholes and I dont want to deal with bent rims and such so I figure i'd just go 17".

Yeah, the site is slowing down for some reason... blame ripplehost, not me

Anyway... those wheels on there are about the equivalent of what a 15 or 16 inch wheel would look like. (by my estimation based on the scaling I did, no actual measuring)

theres this one guy in my city he just has a solid piece of black metal(like those ugly rims on economy cars except with no slots on the side) and he took a drill and sorta made a colinder outta his rims. looks weird but kinda cool

ouch... so those stock rims are 14" right (I'm guessing 2001 mitsu mirage)? that means a 45 height tire at 16" or 40 height tire at 17" (205 width) if these are going to be used as oem replacements, i would stick with 16".

I would look for a 16" wheel that goes to the edge of the rim, something that doesn't show a lip. it will appear bigger and cleaner on your car. if you want something with a lip and cheap, i would just look for someone selling a set of 16" 97-99 eclipse wheels on ebay.

off tirerack, i would go with the mille miglia evo or ev-s. you should check out wheelmax, they are having specials on their exel wheels (real cheap with tires, but they only go down to 17")

I just recently replaced my old 16" worn oem rims with is300 17" oem rims really cheap and my car looks 10x better.

edit: you could always go ahead with 17s and add these

I'd most likely go with a 15 inch wheel so I have enough sidewall to provide some cushion. The ride is already rough compared to what I'm use to.

get a tint, nice tires for driving around, and some new hubcaps

photoshop your car black, maybe the wheels will look better if the car is another color?

How is your stereo and speakers? Maybe you could put this money into that and it would be more of a direct impact, once you sit inside your car I hope you don't visualize how your car looks and what others think of it

Stereo and speakers are fine... just stock stuff, but I've never had any complainits about it... I don't spend THAT much time in my car and I definately don't need it any louder or thumping bass. The only thing I'd change about the interior is I'd like it to be all one color... the dash and console are black, and the seats and carpet and headliner are a tanish color.

The hubcaps are just ugly... I hate them, lol. I haven't seen any hubcaps I like either... most of them are designed to look like a good set of aftermarket wheels or something and I hate that.

I guess it is a bit silly to spend $800 on a set of wheels and tires on an economy car. I just hate those hub caps! lol A new paint job is the only other thing I'd do to it, but that would cost a lot more than wheels and tires.

Maybe instead of doing anything to it, I'll just treat it to some synthetic oil this winter, lol.

Umm... considering how stupid most "good" drivers are and since you'll have a set of steel rims just collecting dust, why not? Even drivers that know true car control f-up in the snow... they just have better ability to recover from them. Most all-seasons suck pretty hard in the snow. Whether it be flat or hilly, you still have to turn, brake, accelerate... etc. You'd be surprised how much safer it is with snow tires.

BTW, it's true that your car won't sound like a bumblebee with the stock exhaust on it but it will still sound somewhat farty and loud. Also, there won't be much to gain from headers without a complementary exhaust.

True... but that's even MORE money

You don't need an expensive paint job, surely you can find one for around maybe $500 or so, to most people it'll look like a new car. I'd reccomend a paint job for now. After that, maybe you could get windows tinted. Honestly, I wouldn't spend money on the wheels before the rest of the body looks a little better. To be truthful, you use this car for daily driving, don't put too much on the exterior in wheels, tires, etc. If you're fine with the stereo, are the seats fine? Maybe you could get nicer seats or something. Like I said, once you sit inside, I don't think people visualize what their car looks like, not saying it should look bad, but you get my point, right?

Sure, I'm not the type to cruise around thinking to myself "holy shyt I'm a fuggin bad azz mofo in my phat ride!" I just can't stand to look at it sitting outside my house, lol. The wheels are so ugly! I thought about getting some 14 inch replacements from tires.com for about $60 a piece... but then I figured if I'm going to get new wheels, it would be kinda dumb to buy 14 inch... but if I got 15's then I'd need new tires immediately, lol.

I'm sure I could get a Maaco special... but I don't want a crap paint job like they do there. I want the chips properly fixed, dents properly fixed, surface prepped properly before spraying. Also Maaco usually does a HORRIBLE job of taping off things that shouldn't be painted. I learned how to do body work and how to paint a car in high school... so I know how it SHOULD be done and I'd kick myself for paying someone like Maaco a bunch of money to do something I could almost do in my own garage.

I have Borbet Type-E 's if you want them I can sell them to you for a great price. They are small however, 16s but If you aren't going to lower your car then the better.

16 inch is probably bigger than what I want... do they even have the right bolt pattern? =)

Not that I approve of what people do to them... but... it's no worse than a Civic...
