Recommendation for USB Bluetooth adaptor?

Honestly, my suggestion is to get the Logitech MX900. Its like $70, is a great bluetooth adapter, mouse included, and its only about $30 more than the rest of the USB bluetooth adapters...


anyone else have thoughts on this?

I already got a set of MX Duo (not bluetooth)
so extra mouse would be unneccessary

Bluetooth is the most immature technology for XP, good luck with the worst PC experience you can imagine

PS. Get a USB IR port if it's an option.

Berklin adapter, don't bother with the D-Link as it has issues with BT phones, this is from expierence.

I also had a nightmare of a time getting my BT adapter to work with my XP box. All said and done it took several hours and I had to use the "Internet Sharing" feature in XP to create a new subnet on my already existing network - soley for the BT adapter. All this so I can browse the web from my living room on my PDA...

Not really worth it IMO.

But if you dare to be brave and try, the TRENDnet USB adapter I got is working alright now. It was $18 after rebate at Amazon last month.

I've had great success with my Belkin... and contrary to what some will tell you here... BT does work well --IF your BT enabled device fully complies with the BT spec. Many earlt BT products didn't.

My Belkin F8T003 v2 dongle works great as well for syncing and file transfer between my XP box and my T616 phone. The only real issue I've had is the SE image editing software doesn't seem to recognize the adaptor, but if I crop the pics with the image editor, convert them to either GIFs or JPEGs and then manually transfer the images over to my phone using Explorer, I can get my own pictures onto the phone (My background pic is now the famous Johnny Cash giving the photographer the bird pic, and I really wish you could have a custom screensaver for the silent mode like the Nokia phones so I could use the "Why don't you have a nice big cup of STFU" in that situation). Outlook 2003 syncs perfectly via Bluetooth though, and the headset function works pretty nicely, allowing me to use my PC as a speakerphone.

Watch the CompUSA ads, they have the Belkin dongle on ad for $20 AR on almost a monthly basis. Chances are they will keep running this promotion, if only to mock the fact that I paid full price for it.

I'm using a "Microtune" USB Class-1 Bluetooth dongle on my machine, and it was £19 shipped here in the UK. Works great with my SonyEricsson T610 (same phone as yours but for the UK/Europe market), sync'ing to Outlook and transferring files etc.

No problems as of yet!

I have a Belkin USB BT adapter for my SonyEricsson phone. It was a pain to set up but it now works... sort of. Those XP BT drivers need a ton of work still done to them. Especially the synchronization bit is not what I hoped it would be.

EDIT: What I mean is that sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
