Hi all,so after 5 years,I'm building pc from scratch (I'm reusing my case, cooler, hdd and nvme is already bought) PC will be used for browsing(15 tabs at once),youtube and gaming at 1440p 144hz monitor and 4K 120hz TV. I made list in partpicker before buying although without gpu, because I need some advice here also. Should I go with rtx 3080/3080ti or wait for some price drops of 4080 or 7900xt cards ? I upgrade my pc once every 4-5 years so going with 1700 socket is ok for me,anyways I always replace almost all the parts. Any additional advices of the build will be much appreciated!

P.S maybe I will change memory to cl32 if that matters also.

Slightly more than the MSI but you get five NVMe slots: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813162101?Item=N82E16813162101

You also don't need to worry about flashing to the latest BIOS to support the 13th gen CPU.

DDR5-6400 CL32 will cost double but it helps in some games that want gobs of RAM bandwidth.

There have been reports of issues with WD SN850X. I would steer clear of that. Consider an SSD from Crucial / Samsung or Kingston.

You are paying way too much for a graphics card that is on its way out. I would spend $50 more and just get the Radeon 7900 XT.

Don't hold you breath waiting for 4080 price drop. Nvidia is pretty obstinate.

That mobo design, gosh For memory I meant 5600 cl32 which is something like 150$ on amazon etc..
Haven't heard anything about 850x issues, anyways it's already bougth cause was on sale with 30$ cheaper than 980 pro so I will test it out.
Probably wull wait with gpu also, not th best time to but something now

When it comes to ram we're not in the 90s anymore and it doesn't make a significant difference. As to the GPU the Intel A770 with 16gb is only $350 right now and compare to the 3080 in performance.

The 850x is a good drive for most and only a handful of issues reported by a couple of people. If you have issues with it then get the non x version or look at the SN770.

Just my 2 cents as I'm currently researching to build a new system later this month.

I might go 13600k, I'm looking at 2 ASUS Z790 boards and both are DDR4. They have everything else, PCIE 5.0, Gen 5 M.2 TB4 with an add on card. I looked at a lot of benchmarks and I'm not seeing much reason to go DDR5 over DDR4. And luckily for me, the MB I'm most eyeing is DDR4. I'm like you, keep a system for 5 years and basically build a whole new one. I''m really looking at the Asus Rog Strix Z790-A (white one) it's a packed board. And it doesn't hurt I can get almost double as much ram for the same price since it's not DDR5. Do I need 64gb? absolutely not. But $230's hard for me to pass up. lol

I looked at your list, that's going to be some build man wow.
