Recommendations for a new notebook

I'm not familiar with the notebooks on the markets these days. I'm looking for something for myself, I wonder if any of you can help me find something in the following criteria:

1. 64 bit processor
2. decent ability to carry daily
3. video card, something better than Intel Integrated
4. Enough RAM
5. Decent HD
6. Maximum budget ~1000, but I would definitely appreciate suggestions significantly below this maximum price. I'd like to be able to pull this off as cheap as possible.

I live in the NYC metro area, so I need suggestions for places that are national or around this locality.

Honestly with a budget of 1000 bucks even if you go with something like radeon xpress or nvidia integrated graphics it will still perform the same as the intel graphics but with less battery life. The X3100 is not that bad really and intel will be releasing new drivers that will give it some more performance.

Thats not bad at all considering it also comes with 3 year warranty. Only thing is ram is only 512 but for 80 bucks more you can upgrade to 2gb by getting some 1gb sticks from newegg. Also comes with 9 cell battery. I am a big fan of dell latitudes, very solid built notebooks.
