I am planning on converting my system from an MSI K7T Turbo to a DDR board. Probably not really worth the effort, but I have a home business building systems so the option is there at reasonable cost and I need the experience in DDR. Anyway, I currently am using Promise RAID and Win2K and I really don't want to reinstall Win2K, which I think I would have to do unless going to another MB with the Promise controller on it. I had pretty well decided on the MSI K7T/266 using the Via chipset with the Promise controller but am wondering if the AMD 760 is better. Most reviews seem to show the AMD just a tad faster than the Via for most things, although the Via does surpass the AMD in a few areas. Anyway, I was looking for recommendations on this if anyone is interested in enlightening me. Also, the only board I have seen so far with the AMD and Promise RAID is the Gigabyte board. Thanks for any help on this matter.
