Recommended place to buy Cat6 cables and RJ45 plugs?

I've been going with Monoprice Cat5e cables and they've run great so far for my network IP cameras. I'm going to be installing more and have read I should start using Cat6 cables from now on to be future proof. But after reading some reviews it seems Cat6 cables from certain manufacturers are hit and miss, Monoprice included. The RJ45 plugs seem to be a bigger risk as well.

Just wondering which brand combo I should go with from users on this forum.

Are we talking home or actual install job?

Usually you don't crimp your onw patch cables.

It'll be for a supermarket.

then you terminate solid cable into patch panel and keystones. Belden is always good for cable. Go Leviton eXtreme for keystone. Then buy a bunch of premade patch cables to connect to actual devices.

that makes sense. however i'm not dropping them down inside of walls. this is going to be a one and done type of project. obviously i'm at amateur at this lol.

I once bought a 10m CAT 6 FTP patch cable from a Chinese supplier, Fiberstore at just US$ 10.00, and it still works fine now. Maybe you can go there to search your needs.

You need to be careful when you're shopping for spools of utp ethernet because a lot of it is CCA. Don't know what monoprice sells but I would look at getting some quality belden cable.

I bought a 1000' spool of CAT6 from Monoprice a while back and haven't had any issues.

I did this as well. Just make sure it is Solid Copper for runs to patch panels / keystones / behind walls (along with Solid Copper RJ45 plugs) and Twisted copper instead of solid from patch panel to device (along with Twisted RJ45 plugs).

Honestly, for from the wall to device, I'd just buy pre-built cables - just make sure they are twisted for flexibility. They are a lot cheaper when you consider time, so buy extra if you're worried about failures. I've never had one single cable fail at my house ever. And when I did support for a large company with lots of locations, it was fairly rare.

It's a family run supermarket. There are exposed ceilings that I don't mind running cables through, most of it hides along the beams. I run the cables along the wall as well. It's really a lot more work to punch a hole in the wall and make things look nice. It's an Asian market as well, so yeah, we're not super modern and all lol. The areas where the cables will end up are open areas.

As for the cables, all the monoprice ones seem to advertise non-CCA. Plugs wise, I bought some generic ones from amazon and they don't click securely. The plugs are where I need advice on getting quality ones.

They don't have to be in wall, but at least put them in conduits. Terminate in box and jack then patch cable to actual device.

The plugs I got from Monoprice worked very well, although I haven't needed to use that many yet. All of them that I did use though worked very well IMO.

EDIT:

Make sure you're buying the right type... solid vs twisted.

Do not go cheap on the wire. You do not want to reinstall. The cheap wire is cheap because you are the QA. I bought about 150ft worth of cheap cable before I learned my lesson and spent the money on decent cable. Not expensive... decent. Bulk Belden is not that much more expensive and is all you'll need. I would consider buying UL rated in wall Ethernet cable just in case something burns and they decide to sue you.

Many asian business owners just want to save every penny they earn and would not spend a penny more. All they care is quantity not quality.

They would rather see their employees work like honey bees fixing things instead see them work efficiently or idling.
