Reconmend an CPU Abit BE6 MOBO

Yeah I know its old but what is the best CPU to speed up this setup. Mitsumi 2X2X8 CDRW, Diamond Viper 770, Mator 13G ata 66, Celeron 366@550. how about this celeron 700?

I've got a slot 1 pIII 800MHz with a 100 fsb in my be-6. It works fine. I'm not sure, but I bet you could put a PIII 1 GHz in there at 100 fsb.

Upgraded my son's bh6 300a@450 to a retail celeron1000/slotket over the weekend. Had to flash the bios, added an addl 128 megs of memory. Definitely a big improvement. Less than $100 delivered form Augustustech. Their generic slotket allows for fsb adjustments, not voltage, which shouldn't be an issue with a be6.

Should be about the same for your board- fcpga processors up to 1100 are supported by the latest bioses. Might be able to use a tualatin on a special powerleap slotket, probably not worth the $$.

The new lever clip on the retail celeron gave me some trouble, snapped the mounting tab right off of the slotket. YMMV, but be careful of the evil clip....

If you go Celeron, stay with 800 - 1100 MHz. They run on a 100 MHz bus. The Celerons up to 766 run on a 66 MHz bus.

Your choice depends largely on what sort of approach you want to take. You can gamble that a 66mhz celeron will o/c to 100, or spend slightly more for a 100mhz processor. Far as I'm concerned, I'm with Oldfart, spend a little extra for a sure thing. They're still dirt cheap.

You definitely do not want a 133mhz fsb processor....
