OS - XP Pro /w SP1 & all updates.
Suspected Cause - Scheduled a scan on boot-up "error-checking" via My computer, properties, tools. Said yes to the prompt about doing it on next boot-up.
Problem - CHKDSK now runs EVERY time the system turns on, or reboots. It even recurs if I let it run through the checking, skip it, etc.
Extra details -The partition in question is the second partition on my second hard drive. It's about 25GB and is used for games and downloads storage. I'm slightly annoyed by the 10 seconds to skip it
Attempted Solutions -
1. Attempt to disable with Diskeeper getting this error
I've got Diskeeper, the windows utilities, and you guys
That's about the extent of my hard drive tools as of now.
2. Reschedule via Hard drive properties. Still keeps coming
3. Check Boot.ini, system.ini, win.ini, startup via msconfig for possible culprits.
4. System restore on the drive is only enabled on my OS (seperate) partition.
5. CHKDSK for disk G:\ (Disk2, part 2) reoccurs on both XP home C:\, (Disk 1, part 1) and XP Pro D:\, (Disk 2, part 1)
Request - I'm looking for a way to turn off the automatic every time CHKDSK.

CHKDSK is currently set to run on this volume, either by the operating system, or by an application.
