Recurring Office 2007 updates?

My wife and I are getting the same three updates coming up for installation despite installing successfully (according to the log): 2760411, 2760588 abd 2760583. Is anyone else getting this?

Yep, had it on the work PC this morning. They appear to have installed so when the update pane showed up again i just used 'Hide Update' on all of them to get rid of the notification.

1. Windows Update > View update history. > double click on the relevant 'Failed' update.

2. Event Viewer > Windows logs > Application > Look for messages for the failed updates. Double click to read.

WOW, I thought I was the only one! I did KB760583/588/411 updates yesterday, twice in fact. This morning I tried again, and two of the three failed. I rebooted and tried again and all three updated, but they still show in Updates simultaneously as Updated and needing update.

In a statement sent to Softpedia this morning, Microsoft confirmed that it’s indeed investigating the issues caused by KB2760411, KB2760588, and KB2760583 updates, but offered absolutely no workaround on how to deal with the problem until a fix is released.

“We’ve received reports of some customers experiencing issues when deploying some of September’s Office-related updates. We are investigating this issue and will act accordingly, to help ensure that our customers are protected,” Dustin Childs, group manager, Microsoft Trustworthy Computing, said in a statement.

In the meantime, users who want to temporarily fix the problems are recommended to uninstall the faulty updates and then hide them from the Windows Update section of the built-in Control Panel.

Well, they may have fixed the problem. I checked the history and it said that those updates were successfully installed, then ran windows update again and they were gone.

I had the same annoying event on two XP machines - they each got those three puppies 2 times. I finally opened up the screen and selected "Custom" instead of "Express." That also brought up a checkbox "Dont Notify me any more on these."

I had this issue as work. It was one update for Office 2003 and two for Office 2007. What I found odd, was that the machine has Office XP (2002) installed, not 2003, or 2007.

I thought that was the issue, guess not.
