Recycle bin

I have a user that under her account, if she deletes a file, it does not go to the recycle bin first. I checked her settings and they are set to send files to the recycle bin first. When I log in as a admin, recycle bin works fine. I am stumped, the only thing microsoft has like it is from NT 4 or windows 2000. Any help would be great.

Where do they go then? Do they eventually end up in recycle bin?

Have you reviewed this information yet? It may effect your XP machine as well.

One thing to try would be to change the recycle bin settings on her account to delete things immediatly, log out and back in, than change it back.

Try to use it, but it tells you to find the recycle bin directory and open the properties\ownership section. One problem does not tell you where that is. Hey Mentally norma, the files are gone, its like it skips the bin.

It's in \RECYCLER and then a directory based on the users SID. Sounds like someone changed permissions on the folder. If you set permissions on RECYCLER properly, you can nuke the subfolders and the RB should recreate them.

not sure but a work around would to just create a new account on the machine and move the required data over.

This user isn't deleting files that are on the network, right? -- we're talking all local PC ?
