Back when they were new a friend from high school-who was not college material-persuaded his dad to buy him a new Delorean instead of pissing the money away on college. After driving it for a month or so he garaged it.

I moved away and lost contact with him so I never found out how he made out with it.

It looks surprisingly nice in red. I am not a DeLorean lover per se, but this car is in beautiful shape and has interesting provenance. I can see the appeal.

anything that hasn't moved in 30 years is likely to fall apart as soon as you try to use it.

also, sure looks nice, but those cars were never great to begin with. for that price, you can get much more, if not in the nostalgia department.

That brushed bare metal was hard to keep clean. Every hand print showed. I saw quite a few of them painted when they were popular. I thought they looked better painted too.
