Red shadow with a 2 years old ATI 9600XT...

I've a 2 years old ATI 9600XT and recently my screen keeps turning to red before coming back to white, it doesn't turn completely red but i can see a noticeable redish shadow notably when a web page load.

It seems that my problem started when I upgraded to the latest ATI driver because i started noticing this problems after i removed it since i didn't like the new catalyst interface.
Then i completely removed it (even using driver cleaner), I also tried the Omega driver then I went back to last year ATI driver but still to no avail, the redish shadowing is still there.

Interestingly enough, i don't see it when watching movies, anyone knows what could be causing the problem?

I used to have a 9800 pro.......until I realized that it was giving me a red checkerboard in games. Really gay. So I got rid of it. In researching the problem, though, I found out that ATI has a very nasty reputation for bad drivers and problems in their GPUs. Not sure if that's still the case or not, but it definitely was a problem with the Radeon 9xxx series cards.
My best advice: get a new card. I'm assuming you have an AGP 8x system. Decent cards are cheap now; you can get a 6600 GT for barely more than $100, or you can get a 6600 regular, 6600 LE, or 9800 Pro for much less.
