When I first came to this forum, there were only a few hundred members. In fact, I was here on AT even before forum exited. I think that is when AT was hosted by a free hosting site called tripod or geocities. I knew this new thing called forum was setup but I didn't bother to check it out for a while.
I remember staying at general hardware section and back then, people wrote nowadays offtopic stuffs there. In the middle of 'my cpu won't overclock,' 'what m/b should I get' 'how do I oc?' threads, you'd see 'my gf broke up with me,' 'what music are you listening to right now' threads. Back then, it was just the way it was.
I also remember when there were only two hardware sites that existed. One was AT and the other was Tom's Hardware Guide. There always was a hint of rivalary and, one day, hell broke loose when Tom himself made some unflattering comments about Americans. Now it's Osama Bin Laden but back then, it was Tom who became the most hated enemy at least here on ATF.
Anyway, I remember seeing Anand's picture for the 1st time and thinking 'my god, this kid looks like a.....kid.' Well, I was also very young back then and I remember feeling like I've acheived nothing when this kid is doing this great stuff.
There was also Red Dawn. I saw Red Dawn was an old authoritarian figure that needs to be gone. Harvey was there as well but it was Red Dawn that annoyed me the most. I did not agree with anything he said and I was sure he was one of those red neck old junk that is only so tough on Internet. We got into heated arguments so many times. I wasn't just a personal level of arguments as I tried to start 'xxxx the mods, we need freedom' sort of movement.
After a while I left. Time has passed. I made it back.
And now I find myself agreeing with Red Dawn 100%. I acutally like him much for he says what I want to say and he does it better. Did I change or is it Red Dawn who changed?
Then, I came across Anand's nowadays picture and... he now looks like an aged car sales dealer plus he's bold.
This is when I really realized how much time has passed and how I and we have all changed. Damn.....I feel so.....old now.....
