Is it just me or does it seem like it's just a bunch of brainless zombie herds from L4D2 ? :hmm: So much stupid advice and stupidity going on. But so strong.

I need to get my own office so I can play video games in peace.

Reddit is just a massive forum for any topic, moderated by the users.
There is higher quality in certain subreddits, just like here at Anandtech forums.

I still have yet to figure out how their comments section is supposed to read. It's like a schizophrenic string of nested quotes and unexpanded subtopics. I'm clearly not intelligent enough to parse it together.

I'm not a huge fan of Reddit myself, but there are some really good sub-reddits over there. Probably my favorite is AMA; I love reading the Top AMA website:

D:

I'm not sure how I stumbled upon to here but jeez. I know where the stupid women come from now. I think I thought it was something to do with science and DNA. Reminded me of a book called double helix I read while grounded about 10 years ago. I havn't really read other reddits due to them being so annoying to navigate and find, when you finally do posting is a whole another beast.

Reddit for me is bathroom material. It's when you are on the john and need to waste 5 minutes. The funny/gifs/mildlyinteresting sections are mindless entertainment while you have nothing better to do.

I actually stumble on a lot of news on the various news subs.

Comments and conversations are fairly easy to follow, once you recognize that any branch/thread is unrelated to a branch that starts at the same point (so, a reply to this comment starts one conversation branch/tree/thread - someone else can also reply to this very comment and start off a very deep conversation tree of its own).

Those individual comments, and thus, entire branches/trees/threads, can be voted up and down. Usually the most helpful comments, or the funniest, are going to float to the top of any particular comment thread, if not the entire comment section.

I don't go too deep into the comment trees. Sometimes I see people writing 8 paragraph long replies 10 branches deep, I mean who's going to read this?

But the site is great for having an endless stream of new content no matter what time of day you look.

Maybe it's because 99% of any reddit use I have is on a mobile device and that's just not a great format for the wall of text that some comment sections become. That and I'm just old and used to chronological formatting of traditional BBS systems.

I don't understand how anyone can use reddit. The gui is so cluttered. Why can't they use a traditional bulletin board like vbulletin or UBB.
