RedHat 7.3 or Mandrake 8.2?

What's up guys? Seeing that Red Hat has been out for like a month or so, would you guys recommend it over Mandrake 8.2 for a standard consumer? I know in the past that Mandrake has been good for ease of use and customer accesbility and Red Hat has generally leaned towards businesses.

Any recommendations? Suggestions? Seeing that RedHat is newer than Mandrake 8.2 and has features like KDE 3.0 and USB 2.0 support, is it worth the switch?

i just installed redhat...
and am downloading mandrake as we speak.

i'm not sure if i like redhat yet.

i'm completely new to linux. so don't take my word for it.

I think Mandrake 8.2 is much friendlier toward new Linux users. Mandrake has the "what do do" menu option so that someone totally new to Linux doesn't have to guess filenames. RH7.3's menus have improved since 7.2 (when all you saw was filenames without descriptions), but it still has a way to go. Upgrading is easier with Mandrake as well, IMHO.

KDE3 is nice, but don't lose sleep about upgrading. While I haven't tried it, you can upgrade Mandrake 8.2 to KDE 3.0 painlessly. Here are the details. YMMV.
