Are they now? I do know that rediff also has a US version which is hosted entirely in the US. I find rediff to be decently fast in terms of speed. Speed of email arrival...is, however, exceedingly slow. Takes upto 10 minutes to receive an email which was sent to activate some registration...etc
Oh well.
rediff.com is one of the faster growing Indian portals

I don't think any of rediff servers are based in India. I believe they have em in the america's. I think they are the number one Indian portal. The mail problem with rediff is it is slow. I doubt they have made any changes in their speed. Good deal though.

edit : I forgot my aventuremail account another 'gig' and my personal isp account 10 megs. .
I'm up to 4 gigs 477 megs
