Reduced call costs - US Domestic 2.5c, no monthly fee. Good service IMO.

Onesuite just announced that their domestic rates are down to just 2.5c per minute if you use local connection numbers rather than their 1-800 number. (If you use their 1-800 number they are 2.9c) Also their international rates are slightly cheaper if you do the same for them too.

I have been using these guys for the last year, without any problems. I get rates of 4c per minute to the UK which is awesome. They don't have any monthly fees and I have not spotted any quality of call issues.

They also have some neat features - if you set their system up correctly you can dial from your home phone, which the system recognizes thereby avoiding you having to key a pin. They also just introduced the ability to store frequently used numbers with short dial codes. I can now dial my folks in the UK with a short-dial programmed into my phone, no pin number, then dial a two digit pin plus # and I'm done. Kewl stuff IMO!

This is just a friendly post for my fellow ATers - I like Onesuite's service - I have no tie-ups with them (I'm not looking for referral credits even if they do have that ability now ).

I had been searching for cheap call capabilities for some time and have had only good experience with these guys, so I thought I'd let you all know.

If you have better deals feel free to post em, I'll be looking!

Arg! This sounds great, except they only take Visa or Mastercard! Doh! Discover loses out yet again.

I'm sure you have your reasons, but I can't see why anyone wouldn't have a MC or a Visa card. There are plenty of places that only accept those two. And there are plenty of banks that offer them with no annual fee.

bump for the best LD and international deal out there - however I noticed that their minutes expire. Is that new?

Yo

P.s.: I am using them to burn my free off-peak cell minutes when calling overseas. Every once in a while they seem overloaded but never long so it's at least 4 out of 5 stars.

Their minutes expire after 6 months of purchase. It was that way when I started using them early this year, so I just buy minutes in small increments.

This is a great deal. I don't know if everyone is going to find a non-local toll call phone number within their area tho, but there's 3 close to me (chicago)

Thanks for the info Zeeeter. I also have to call the UK frequently, currently use bigzoo at 4.5c a minute and have no complaints. The ability to dial without so many numbers plus 4c a minute makes me want to give onecall a try though.

Yo2 - I think that the terms state that the minutes expire six months after purchase or six months after your last call which makes 'em pretty flexible. I also just top up $20 at a time.

Another nice thing is that you have the choice of switching off all the boring "you have 900 minutes remaining" messages. Not much but it all makes for quicker connections.

Also - YO2 - I have had them overloaded about two times in twelve months. Compare that with Nextel when I get overload two times in two minutes

Britboy - yeah I agree - the speedy dialing makes life a whole lot easier! (and lol it is onesuite, not onecall!)

Happy dialing . . . . Zeeet

Another bump for Onesuite. I've used these guys for almost a year and they're the best service hands down, especially w/ their new rates. $.025/minute and super cheap international calls. Never had a problem with them.

More than a year of service for me too and I love onesuite! No local number yet, however. I will NEVER give any of the big long distance companies my money again, if I can help it!

this reminds me, what is the best place to swith my long distance carrier to so I can dump the $20 a month charge? I just want one for when onesuite is busy and 2 minute calls when it isn't worth the hastle.

I got a Visa, wife Mastercard, from REI. %1 cash back on all purchases. (well, %1 back at REI, but after a month you get a cashable check).

No fees, fairly low APR for those who are stupid enuf to actually not pay their credit card bills.

My $.02

Previous post scores 0 out of 10 for relevance to calling using Onesuite, but thanks anyway Nice if we convert to a credit card deal thread tho!

Not sure about the "alternative to onesuite while they are busy" in the earlier post. I don't think I ever got that more than one time. Also - get a programmable phone for the access number - if you set up zipdail you don't have to worry about pins and programming pauses etc into the sequence. Also you can switch off the announcement messages (other than the final "you have only one minute remaining" message) so again you don't have to worry about inserting pauses into your dialing string.

Those of you whining about OneSuite/BigZoo's busy toll free access numbers should:

1) See if there are any local access numbers in your area, who knows there might be. Local Access Number Lookup
2) Most modern phones have MEMORY dial, program MEMORY 1 to dial the access number and MEMORY 2 to dial your PIN (which shouldn't necessary since you should be using their PINSkip feature).
3) Also most modern phones should have a nifty button called REDIAL. I have never had to press REDIAL for more 5 times to get through BigZoo's toll free access even during peak hours, a Friday night at 8:00 PM PST.

Another vote for OneSuite, been using them a year, and they rock. I've never been unable to get through, but I do have a backup, just in case.

Best backup I've found is prepaid AT&T cards at Sam's Club. 600 minutes for $20.82, works out at 3.47c/minute US, and they never expire, and no extra fees. Overseas isn't so hot - ~14c to Australia and Ireland, vs. 5c with OneSuite; and 10.5c to UK, vs 4c. However, they don't charge extra for calling mobile phones in those countries (or other countries where the caller, rather than the recipient, pays for calling a mobile phone, unlike in the US). So calls to Australian mobiles are the same 14c/minute, vs. OneSuites 26c/minute; Ireland is 14c vs 32c with OneSuite; and UK is 10.5 vs 27c/minute. So the AT&T card provides a backup for normal (landline) calls, yet to be needed; and a much cheaper option for when I'm calling someone on a mobile.

Been using onesuite for over two years. I have a daughter living in Italy. Onesuite keeps promising to institute service so that you can call back to the US from foreign countries. Anybody know what's up about that?

Fortunately I have local access. Onesuite ROCKS!

What does this mean:

Due to overwhelming demand, we are out of MessageOne numbers. We are getting more MessageOne numbers. You may sign up for our service now and add MessageOne once becomes available.

To truly show your disdain for the big LD companies, you need to refuse to have any 1- access. If someone tries to use my home phone and dials 1-234-555-6789 he would get an error announcement.

Recently I was asking help from an Alltel employee and he could not believe and did not know that one could choose not have any long distance (that is, 1-access) at all.

Nope you're forgetting one crucial step.

1) Dial BigZoo or OneSuite access number.
2) Enter your PIN
3) Dial the phone number you want

You can skip step 2 if you use their PINSkip feature, details are available on their website.
