I was wondering if anyone has read anything about IBM releasing a reference board design for the power PC processor used in the Xbox 360. I have been salivating about buying an Xbox 360 after it is cracked so that I can run Linux on it... Then I started to wonder why IBM hasn't just built a motherboard that can take the same processor. The CPU must be relatively cheep compared to X86 and it already has three cores on one chip. I suspect that Linux and all of the open source software would probably be relatively easy to port over... I just think it would be way cool to have 3 power PC processors running at 3.2GHz to play with.
Well, has anyone heard anything along these lines?... Is anyone other than myself interested in such a computer?
