is anandtech the best place for learning new computer information, I am trying to learn more, but most of you guys are way out of my league...where can i start???
Many would also say that Toms is biased towards the products he reviews
For basics here is a guide to building a pc which I would think would be the best place to start Here , this will give you a good idea of how it all is put together and what each component does.
Forget Tom's hardware. Most of the people on AT know what they know from day-to-day experience. That is the best, and most practical way to learn anything tech-related. As Gazaa hinted at, building a PC - especially doing the research for all the various components--is a good place to start.
i think you guys took me wrong, i've built about 5 machines, i know how to build them, and i'm getting more into modding, I am just interested in keeping up with the technology, i haven't been doing a lot of forum stuff...that's why i was asking...but keep coming with the suggestions,
Tomshardware, ocworkbench, hardOCP, anandtech, techIMO, cdrinfo, cdrlabs, storagereview for a start...
. and vendor sites like newegg, mwave, svc, etc. usually have a button on the home page labeled "New Products" - check those regularly also to keep up with what's new and available.
