Reformat question

Ok I have one hard drive on this computer but I have it partitioned. On my C: partition i have the OS(windows xp) and just a few easily replaceable programs.

On my other partition E:, I have most of my games, data, music etc. If I delete the C: and reformat the OS on the drive for the sake of speeding my computer back up, will my games, music and apps all run like they did prior to the reformat?

As long as you don't delete the E: partition, everything will remain intact. However, don't expect to be able to run your apps as soon as you get done with the OS install on Drive C:. Whenever applications are installed, registry changes are made, shortcuts created, and sometimes files are copied to specific areas (such as the system32 folder or elsewhere). In order for your apps to run, you will have to reinstall each of them, making note of the folders they are installed in on Drive E:.
