Refresh rate keep resetting to 60Hz on reboot

Hello All,

I have Geforce 4 Ti 4400, and recently installed the newest driver from nvidia (det 56.72). I have two monitors hooked up, one I am running at 1280x1024 at 85Hz, and other 1280x1024 at 60Hz (only 60Hz supported at this resolution).

The problem is everytime I reboot my computer, the first monitors refresh rate resets to 60Hz. I would have to change it manually back to 85Hz everytime I restart my computer.

Is this a known problem, and is there a fix for this?

Personally, I use powerstrip to lock refresh rates. I'm sure there are lots of other tools to choose from though, just wait for some opinions. Peace.

I thought that was just during gaming.....but I could be wrong.....

I didn't have this problem with previous version of the det driver, and the driver is the only thing that I have updated.

the detonator drivers have a built in refresh rate lock.

Vian is right. I simply override the XP refresh right in the advanced settings for the nvidia drivers. Fairly simple to do. Dont over do it and set the refresh to high for your monitor/resolution. 60hz kills my eyes...had to override.
