Nice deal. Anyone have any experience with Crucial refurbs? Do they really test their stuff before they send it back out or is it "buy at your own risk" like newegg refurbs?

I have bought from them before. I bought a bunch (5) of 9100's and put them into low end systems. All were good and some overclocked great. 9100's came in A5 and A6 varients. A5 have 5ns mem. A6 6ns mem. They must test somehow but if you do have a problem it is store credit which is not too bad b/c they have other good products.

Their packaging is way better than the EGG and all you get is card, driver CD plus a S-video cable and maybe a few other trinkets.

I was looking for the warranty on this video card. 30 days on all Crucial refurbs. But Newegg is only 15 days so I guess this the better place for refurb video cards. So if it's bad they replace it or give store credit?

I got a 9800pro and 9600XT, both arrived today and appear to work fine. I played around for 30 minutes in games and ran ATItool for 30 minutes without any errors. Pretty good deal considering free shipping, no tax for my state and I got $7.50 cash back from fat wallet + the $5 bonus.

I really would have liked to have gotten 2 9800pros, or even the 9700pro, but I'm getting the second card for a friend's computer and I have my doubts his PS can even handle the 9600.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the 9800 came with everything, DVI->VGA, S-vid->video, video cable, S-Vid cable, Power spliter, driver CD, PowerDVD CD. The 9600XT only came with the s-vid->video and driver CD.

I have been a big fan of NVIDIA cards for years. Then I switched over to this card and have had nothing but problems. They run extremely hot (better invest in after market cooling gear), colors are not as vibrant, very glitchy with many games (Doom, WoW< City of Heroes, Medal of Honor to list a few)....in all a hunk of junk. My opinion, is to spring the extra cash and stick with NVIDIA. You will save yourself alot of headaches down the road.
