I was looking here and they had $9 off the normal price. Down to $80.99.

Shipping is free over $40 and all you pay is tax.

Crucial is a good company. Their return policy is store credit I believe.

Part No. CTRFBV9800P128 128MB Crucial RADEON 9800 Pro (refurb) US $80.99 1 US $80.99
Subtotal US $80.99
? Estimated Sales Tax US $4.86
Free 2nd day shipping US $0.00
Total US $85.85

How is this compared to fx5600?

A better comparison is with the 5900XT. The 9800 pro spanks it.

DON'T have anything nice to say. Keep your trap shut.

There are other cards at Crucial now:

9700Pro for $73 shipped.

LOL, did you also notice that you can't find ANY threads older than 3 months?! Thats cause they stop listing them genious. Lighten up. People deserve to know if this is a deal that has been around or if it's a rare hot deal.

Who stops listing after 3 months? The radeon 9800 current Body/Title search goes back to April of this year , Searching for Radeon 9800 in title only gives only this thread for a 9800 Pro here

In the archived threads there are around 15 threads for the Radeon 9800 in ATHDs, from 3-14-03 to 10-21-03.
Besides this thread there is only one other thread from this year on the Radeon 9800 and that price was 103.35 from October. If this deal has been around, you need to post the links. There are no other threads on this as far as I see.

In the same place you checked for archived threads, why didn't you check for "hot deals" listed by me? Check for yourself and try using different spelling combos. You should really look harder before talking so much crap.........................

Talking crap? I was being polite. For one, these haven't been 80 for 6 months from ATHDs. They've never been posted here at 80. You made two posts, both at the end of August. Tell me to look harder? Try sticking to facts. Fact is, 80 shipped is the cheapest there is now and the cheapest its been at ATHDs. If you can't find a cheaper one, then it's a hot deal, plain and simple.
Does a video card, that has been on sale twice in the last three months for close to this price precludes it from being a hotdeal? Are we now expected to mention if this price has been seen before. You can mention it like you did, but instead of coming across as a threadcrapper, wouldn't it have been easier to link one of your previous threads? Especially when the OP actually asked you to link?

Indeed a good deal... 9800 pro is in fact in the geforce 6600 range...

then again is that x800 pro (AGP) a good deal @ $210 + shipping?

OP didn't ask me to show a link, he asked why I hadn't posted the deal. $84 and $80 ARE around the same price. Next time just look things up a little harder bedore you start accusing people of lying. All I said was "Refurb 9800 Pro's have been this price for about 6 months now.......... " Thats not thread crapping. People deserve to know if deals like this have been around for a while. Just admit you were wrong for accusing me of never posting the thread. It's not that big of a deal. God why am I wasting my time writting this...............

Word your comments better and YOU won't get crapped on.

"Hey guys. Refurb 9800 Pros have been at this price point on different sites for some time now. If you cannot get one now. They will be back in time" Here are some examples.......

What you posted left it up to people to guess your intention and therefore Crap happens.

I didn't accuse you a lying. But the fact is your statement isn't true. 3 1/2 months ain't 6 months. Fact is refurb 9800 Pros have not been at this price for 6 months as you stated. They have been on sale according to you, for 84 and 87, ea in 3 1/2 months. This is not a regular price. This price is the hot deal. When the OP posted he couldn't find the thread you were talking about, common courtesy might have been to show him, even though it has zero to do with the price that's going on now.

If a spindle of DVD-R's is normally going for 25 a spindle but they occasionally go on sale for 17.99 a spindle, does that mean someone has to post "this has been the price the last 6 months?" C'mon, if 17.99 is lowest price of the day for the DVD-R's, then that is the hot deal. Yesterday's price has no bearing on todays price.

You say "people deserve to know if deals like this have been around for a while". Who cares what was. Was anyone asking like it was an issue or something?

I will tell you why this is hot.

I sold a 9800pro for $100.00 shipped just about 3 weeks ago, and now i purchased another for less than that form a reptable company. pretty good when the used prices is more than the price from a site like crucial.

I pulled the trigger on this one. Been using a AIW9000 pro for a couple of years, the 9800 pro should be an awesome upgrade. From what I understand on the crucial refurbs, most are bad fan replacements(had to replace fan on my 9000 1 1/2 years ago).
Thanks OP

The $99 AGP 6600GT deal mentioned previously in this thread is dead as the PNY rebate period is over. It was pretty much dead since Thanksgiving as I don't think they ever got it back in stock anyway.

EDIT: That 9700 Pro they have currently for just over $70 seems to be a decent deal.

Unfortuately I had to return one 9800 Pro. I ordered a 9700 and 9800. The 9800 is great. The 9700 was fubar. It did VGA mode and craped out when drivers were installed. It will cost $5 to ship it back and they CROSS-SHIP so you can get another if you so desire. I have another 9700 on the way.

The 9800Pro is reasonably fast. I managed 18000+ in 3Dmark 2001.

320 fps in Quake3 1024x768 all maxed out.

Bf2 is real smooth on all medium settings. 30 fps to 80 fps.

My test system is a Nforce2 at 2200mhz, 1gig of ram, Abit NF7-S, 9800Pro.

The 9700 should be a little slower.

If you get a 9800 pro with the 560 core you can bio mod it to a 9800xt which is pretty close to running with a 6800gt.

I'll have to look for that. I forgotm they could do that on the right pcb/core layout.

The 9800pro I got oc'd stable to 410core and 735mem. Not too bad. 375c and 675m was stock. I have not tried higher yet.
