It's back again for $69. You can view what people had to say about it last time here.

While I still hate newegg because they are a shady company this is an excellent price. I bought it a couple days ago when it was $79. I asked if they would adjust the price and they said no because they don't know why the price dropped. They said maybe it comes with less accessories (how can it comes with less than 0 accessories which mine did?) I asked if I could RMA it and rebuy it and they said to submit a request but they will charge a 15% restocking fee which is more than the difference in price. Oh well, $79 isn't horribly bad but it's not as hot as $69.

Newegg is suck but it's a great price on a great board reguardless.

Oh yea, I got a rev 2.0 board

There are many reasons... a few are that when their broken parts weren't selling they relabled them as refurb and screwed a lot of people out of their money when they thought they were buying refurb parts. Also selling used as refurb'd isn't quite honest. And now they lowered the price within hours after I placed my order and now lie to me why they won't adjust the price and won't let me RMA it and rebuy without paying a 15% restocking fee when the board hasn't even arrived at my house.

Newegg must have a ton of these boards. I usually check them out every few days and they always have 99+ in stock. I have also seen them change the price between $69 and $79.

Yeah, that price always fluctuates between $69 and $79....I feel bad for the poor person who got my return...BIOS seemed dead.

Never had any issues with newegg refurbs. Every one of them have worked so far. Though I cannot comment on this particular refurb product. Hope they have better quality control then that.

Actually, come to think of it, OP, you should call Newegg again. I've had a couple good experiences with them adjusting my price after a price drop.

I always view refurb motherboards with YMMV, I just do not like refurb motherboards. It is worth it for me to pay the extra money for the new motherboard. Newegg is an excellent company, I have never had problems with returns and customer service has been excellent.

Yea, I'm running on an older Gigabyte board ATM, which I also bought refurbished from Newegg, and it runs fine... but so did my Asus.

My Asus board craping out was the first piece of hardware from Newegg that I've had an issue with in all my purchases from them. I still think they're the best store on the web to buy computer hardware from.

I recently purchased one of these from Newegg and It is going back this week.

The on-board 3com LAN connection worked until I hooked a LAN cable to it. I had to install an Ethernet PCI card.

The bios is 1005 (1006 newest ver.) It boots up very slooooow. Can't get the awdflash utility to work to load the latest bios.

I don't think it was tested to well and just put back on the shelf.

It didn't come with anything, no cables, no manuals or CD's. Fortunately most of that is accessible on the ASUS website.

Hopefully the replacement board is tested and truely refurbed.

Important: Your order contains a refurbished product(s). Please read the following before you proceed:

Newegg.com does not test any product, including refurbished items. Refurbished items therefore are only tested by the original manufacturer. Due to varying qualities between manufacturers, YOU ARE TAKING A RISK BUYING REFURBISHED PRODUCTS.

Refurbished merchandise are OPEN BOX products that contain components that have been owned by other clients and returned to Newegg.com. The products are sold considerably under cost. Newegg.com guarantees all refurbished products for 15 days only. CPUs, however, only have 7 days for refund. All refurbished items are considered OEM "barebone" parts.

Barebone means Newegg.com can only guarantee the item by itself, no other accessories. No matter what the product description says, refurbished products may not have all the other accessories. Newegg.com is limited to the barebone part of the item itself. Do not be upset or surprised if your refurbished product does not contain any cables, adaptor, manual, CD, drivers, fan, etc. Newegg.com will not send you any missing accessories, even if it is an essential part.

While Newegg.com does not like to discourage sales, only the experienced PC enthusiast should purchase refurbished items and know how to deal with missing accessories. Only buy refurbished products if you are willing to resolve defects and/or know how to find missing accessories.

Refurbished products do have a considerably higher return rate than brand new items. If you are just looking to get a good deal, please only buy new products.

YOU ARE TAKING A RISK BUYING REFURBISHED PRODUCTS

I don't see where they are being shady

Plus, who the hell always beats me to the refurb CPU's.
Today, I was hitting refresh ~every 5min or so. One time there would be nothing, next time, all kinds of great sh!t SOLD OUT
This has been going on for more than year. Must not be TOO SHADY if people keep slamming their servers every time they post new refurbs

I just cracked open my 9.99 K-byte DDR 512k PC2700 and realized it doesn't work on a damn thing I own! Should I give this board a try? Some other were recommending the Gigabyte GA-7NNXP big time over this.... But it is more expensive.

0 for 2 on Newegg refurbed motherboards for me, though no ASUS. I understand the ASUS are actually refurbs. The ones I got looked like open box customer returns.

I have bought thousands of dollars of stuff from Newegg and have always had good service (RMA's included). I bought one of these boards and it arrived with an IDE problem. My 80 GB JB drive showed 50 Kb and my 120 GB BB drive was about 100 Kb. It was a rev. 2.0. I also bought an 1800+ cpu and got a free $7(!) pen. None of these things worked. Including the pen. What is the statistical probability of that? RMA'd the board and CPU (accidently stomped on the pen 11 times) and got back a version 1.04 board. Wow. Oh, how our loved ones test our strength. I keep a list of vendors I have bought from and rate them on shipping cost, customer service, ship date from order, etc. Newegg (also called Newerr) and Googlegear are ahead by a large margin. :brokenheart:

Those things which do not kill us only make us stronger. Ouch! I think I broke a nail!

I think you have newegg confused with tiger direct, who has a strong reputation of such practices. Newegg is awesome.
