Nick -
Sorry no real comments on the system performance. It's been a hectic week and I haven't been able to play with it. However, for the money, it's a deal. I'd say the RAM is the only thing worth the upgrade - get a cheap 32 or 64 mb simm, and you have a nice system for < $300. I wouldn't necessarily dump a LOT of money into it, that'd just be counterproductive.
There is one free 5.25" drive bay. No open 3.5" bays but I'm sure you could rig up a hard drive in there somewhere. (or get a 5.25->3.5 converter) As I said earlier, the power supply is distressingly small. You could *almost* swap in a regular ATX power supply if you were lucky but it would butt up right against the 5.25" drives and there is a rivet that you'd have to drill out. I'll probably give that a shot one of these days, I'm using this for a linux server and router so zero downtime is a big priority for me. Note that the case is identical to the one they show on their website. It has 3 PCI slots, one AMR slot and ZERO agp slots. Sorry gamers. ;-) The bios is decent and it had fan speed, cpu temp, etc info. I booted up an old linux drive and it didn't choke on anything, and hopefully if I can get my hands on a copy of RedHat 7.0 I'll be installing that today.
As a whole I'm impressed. Add more RAM, replace the 4 gig with a bigger HD if you need it, and keep an eye on the power supply. It was a good deal, especially for us FL residents. I wish I had ordered 3, and will defnitely pick another couple up if they come up as refurbs again. Perfect system for the parents.
