Do i really need 6.1?
Well, my HK has 7.1, so there!Originally posted by: JImmyK
no you dont but with onkyo DTS:NEO 6.1 it simulates 6.1 using all your 5.1 movies and trust me it sounds amazing
my brother has an onkyo 6.1 receiver just a few models above this and I cant tell you how amazing the 5.1 movies sound with his 6.1 (2 rear surrounds plus single rear speaker setup =6.1)
If it comes with any kind of warranty at all, even 30-day, you should be able to get it repaired by them or send it back. Otherwise, I'd talk to my credit card company.Originally posted by: whoiswes
i bought the kenwoood vr-6050 (earlier thread) but it was damaged in shipping and had to go back.
i've been talking with one of the reps about getting a different model (since they're out of the 6050 and 6060) and she cautioned against the onkyo's, as they are getting LOTS of calls about them.
the worst part is that they CANNOT and WILL NOT take an onkyo back, for ANY reason - you buy one, it's yours, even if the package gets driven over by a truck - you're stuck with it.
i just thought i'd add a warning in to anyone who was considering this deal - i think this is a great receiver, but you might want to call around to figure out what you're gonna do if you get a dead one.
i'm just a bit leery because of what's happened to me.

This one is audio only, correct?
