Just got one for my wife, thanks Jokersmoker!

There is a firmware update here which enables the use of a 1Gb SD/MMC card.

Have you tried the firmware? I can not find the "1Gb" info over Phillips' website. Not intend to mess with firmware if not borken.

Nope. I'll check it out as-is with a 1Gb card once it shows up. Then attempt to flash it after that.

Just got it today. The player came with the latest firmware already installed. Plugged in my 1Gb card and I'm loading songs as I type.

I just tried my 2Gb card from my Digi-cam and it recognized that as well!

So let's see, 100 songs times about 3 minutes a song average equals about 5 hours of music. Do the batteries even last that long? Would you really want to work out for 5 hours? $30 bux is a pretty good deal imo...

Hows the user interface, is it easy to navigate thru a couple hundred songs? Cuz I plan on getting a 1gb stick with this player if the interface is effecient. (you try press forward/back thru 300 songs)

Good deal, but their reseller rating isn't very good. Anyone have experience with this place?

I've only had a couple small orders. Once for Nero and some IDE cables, and once for some A to B USB cables. Not much, but both were shipped fairly quickly, can't complain. With that said, this MP3 player is listed as a refurb, but seems like a hot deal to me.

I am interested in one of these, but I listen to a lot of audiobooks. Does this have a resume feature?

The design for this player is somewhat different.

I own it for one year.

It does not have a "stop" button. You can pause a song, it will pick it where you pause; Or, you can turn it off, but it starts from the beginning of the song.

No "Power" button, you need to press "OK (play)" for 2 seconds to turn it on (off). It is annoying to some (to my old dad, at least.) Once you use it a few times, it should not be a problem.

"Next" and "Previous" buttons are not usual "Left" and "Right" placement, they are "Up" and "Down" arrows. I listen my muisc randomly, so I can't say about this.

The display, when a song is playing, it scrolls MP3 tag. It won't be easy to find the exact song you want. It looks like this

"T050 1:50" (Track number, time - it appears always)
"MP3 tag...." (MP3 Tag, begins to scroll when it plays)

Volume control buttons are on right side of player, "+" and "-" buttons.

FM reception is decent, you can NOT record it.

Voice recorder. I have not used it at all. I believe it record in WAVE format.

Very decent sound, 7 pre-set EQ and 1 Custom EQ.

It had been dropped many many time, not broken yet.

One AAA battery: I got 8 - 10 hours; I am not a loud listener (10 out of 30) is my usual volume.
