What is the difference between refurbished and factory reconditioned? The $99 x-box is refurbished whereas the $130 system is factory reconditioned.

Refurb probably means that EBGames has tested it and repackaged it, but "factory reconditioned" should indicate that MSoft was somehow involved. Also may be a warranty differential.

Factory Reconditioned comes direct from MS, and is a system that may have been repaired. You will be getting a MS warranty with it as well.

Refurbed is some 16 yo at EB who packages these up and says they are OK. EB warranties them.

Better if you go B&M and that way you can pick and choose which one you walk out of the store with.

Of course for $149 you can get a brand spanking new one, with no wear and tear on it with the S-Controller. And I believe some places are bundling a game with them at this price.

If you like RPG's PS2 is the obvious choice, otherwise x-box is probably better. Personally I think gamecube owns them both.
