Guys, have you ever seen an online order status page that was accurate? They are all so bad that I quit looking at them. If I do look at them, it is to see just how far behind they are.Do not depend on anything but UPS or FedEx tracking info. This is hardly something to get upset about. If Sonic is screwing you, there is plenty of time to protect yourself with your CC.

Uh... yes.

And I've never had an online order status page incorrectly state that my order was cancelled when it really wasn't.
And I've never had an online order status page change my status from processing to cancelled to processing to cancelled.
And I've never had a company incorrectly cancel my order due to fictitious problems with my credit card.

If I get my order, fine. If not, it's their loss. I'm certainly not going to waste any more of my time f%cking around with them, having to place multiple orders, possibly having orders cancelled, not having any idea about what the status is, not having any customer service who can answer any order questions and having to read multiple forums in the hopes that one of their employees might show up and drop a tiny hint about what MIGHT be going on etc etc etc

If there is anybody at that company who knows exactly what's going on with these orders, they're the only one (and it's not ReplayLyndon who seems to have some insight, but can't answer the overall big questions), and they should share that information with their employees, their customers and on their website.

At this point it's equally as likely that all the orders will be cancelled as it is that everybody will get every order filled. Nobody really knows at all.

HarryK, you have stated what a bunch of us are thinking, very well! Thank you! Many of us do not care any more if it is cancelled or not! Worst online experience I EVER had!
Makes me wonder what happens if I do get it and there is a problem...then what.

Okay, I ordered on the 29th. I never got an email saying my order was cancelled. I never got an email saying that "sorry, your order wasn't cancelled." I check my status. It says that my order is cancelled. WTF?!

Just for the record, it doesn't appear that my credit card has been charged.

Edit: I also didn't use the F&F discount, although I did order 2, though I doubt that had much to do with it considering all the problems everyone else has been having.

ReplayLyndon posted on AVSForums that he's looking into it right now but there seems to be a problem with the websites reported status. If you haven't gotten a e-mail that says it's cancelled, I'd just wait until they get the situation sorted out.

Okay, here's the deal.

I've called various support #'s for Replay, SonicBlue and Rio and the definitive reply is that the order status page is wrong due to a system error. If you got an email saying your order is NOT cancelled, then it truly is NOT cancelled despite what the order status says.

CSR and supervisor told me that the flood of orders they received crashes their webservers (hence the delays most of us saw) and corrupted some of their backend databases (LOL!).

So in conclusion, if you got an email saying your order is NOT cancelled, don't worry you'll get it eventually since they are on backorder. Don't pay attention to the order status page.

I wonder when they'll actually start shipping these out. Originally they claimed they'd start on the 30th of May...So far, no one has received confirmation of a shipment...

Actually I thought the site originally stated May 29th.

AFAIK, there have been one or two people claiming they got a shipping confirmation on AVS or FW. One person on FW said on the 28th that he not only got shipping confirmation, but a valid UPS tracking number as well.

But as far as we know, these might all already be in the mail for all of us. Customer service can't seem to access specific order information directly and SonicBlue says that the website isn't accurate, so who knows what's really going on with the orders.

Mine's back to processing again too. I called them and they said that they've had to "reset" their systems a couple of times and not to worry.

Without a subscription, the replaytv functions only as a doorstop. The old models all sold with the subscription included in the price, so there has never been a replaytv unit that has ever functioned in any way with "no subscription."

FYI,

Since it appears that hookup options for this are phone line or Ethernet wired LAN, I started to look into a wireless Ethernet bridge (converts Ethernet wired port to 802.11b wireless). Saw that many have had success with the Linksys WET11, did a little digging, found it a Amazon for $94.99 + free shipping (search for "WET11"). Seems to be a pretty good price.

fyi, for cheaper, dwl-900ap or dwl-1000ap run as access points or clients .... client = wireless ethernet bridge .. these can be WAY cheaper than the regular wireless enet bridges ... only problem is they are a little bigger .... i got a 900 for <$50

I bet you get yours soon then. Disregard what the website order status is. Apparently the website isn't connected to the place in Tenn. that's shipping out the units. I believe that everybody who got their RTVs last week still show "processing" on the website.

Flakey company, but I'm hoping I get mine this week.

Update:

Just received my replay (order #3998xx) placed saturday afternoon. The status is still showing as processing, so I would disregard this information.

Now I can't decide whether I want to keep it or sell it. I bought it completely impulsively and never even owned a PVR. That extra 15% pushed me over the edge.

Guess I'll have to try it out and decide if it's worth it.

Good luck to everyone else who got in on this. I think this week is going to see a sh*tload of replays shipping.
