refurbished cannon i550

Anyone have any experience with refurbished Cannon printers? Very good sale on refurbished cannon I550 here and Toms says they are good with ink (one of my main concerns). Will pick one up tommorrow if nothing to negative is said here.

What's the price and what do you want to do with the printer?

$90.00 Canadian. I will do very little color stuff, mainly want something that does text well and cheaply.

Good choice then. I dunno what the conversion rate is but if it's around $60-$65 US then its an OK deal.

You can get generic BCI-3 cartridges at monsterinkjets.com and megatoners.com for $1.45 - $2 US.

I've always wanted a cannon. I would mount it in my computer room window here on the second floor and fire it every day at noon.

Yeah Canon. IMO if you are not interested in color, pick up one of those Samsung Laser printers that now seem to sell in the US for under $150 with rebate. I have the ML-1430, last years model and love it. Print in crisp B&W for pennies on the page!

Yep. I got myself a lil' Okidata LED (not-quite-but-indistinguishable-from-a-real-laser printer) 6w a few years back for a steal. I've never had such a cheap-running printer. $25US toner that lasts ~3000 Pages.

Crisp, beautiful, cheap. Who needs colour? I don't have a camera....
