refurbished CRT's?

My monitor went out and I need a new one. I'd like to have a nice Trinitron or Diamondtron without breaking the bank. I ran across http://www.accurateit.com/ and they have a nice selection or refurbished monitors. Heres what I found:

Dell P1110 21" (rebadged Trinitron) $199
Sony G500 $270
Theres also a bunch of NEC/Mitsubishi ones if you search for NEC or Mitsubishi.

These are labeled as Refurbished A:
"Unit is fully reconditioned* by our technicians and guaranteed to operate per factory specifications. "A" stock units do not have any screen blemishes, picture imperfections, or noticeable plastic wear.

Reconditioning is a multi stage process, which consists of
a. Initial testing
b. Internal vacuum cleaning
c. electronic repair (when applicable), some models have new (updated) high voltage and other components installed in order to insure reliable long term operation

e. exterior cleaning and detailing
f. overnight burn-in test"

Or should I just stay away from refurbs?

Doesn't sound too bad but I have always been one to only buy electronics and such brand new. More than likely a matter of whether you wanna dish out that type of money for a brand new monitor or spend a little less for a refurbished one.

I think the dell one has the wrong specs listed because I saw it at other sites that say it only has 1800x1440

The last 4 CRT's I've purchased have all been refurbs, I've got nothing but good things to say about them and would rec. them in a heartbeat, esp. from a decent Etailer or if you can see it in person. Grade A trinitron tube monitors at or around $200 bucks are a steal for 21" units

FYI, if you're going to get a refurb, now's the time. There are a lot of units that have been on-lease to companies that are coming back in as they're replaced with LCDs, and most CRT manufacturing has stopped; I don't believe 21" Trinitrons are even produced any more(though I believe Diamondtrons are). So with the only supply of good-quality CRTs being refurbs these days(I've seen some beautiful refurbs, I'd certainly reccomend one), the prices on those refurbs will eventually go up once the supply starts dwindling.

i think 100% of refurbished things that i have purchased have had problems so i tend to stay away from anythingg refurbished

there is not much wrong that can go with a crt if it turns on and no pins are missing (which I'm sure the refurbs are fine with that), so go for it

I have a refurb from azatek.com. Perfectly fine, but it seems a bit dim. Personally I'd buy from FS/FT first, and refurb places second (I have two from FS type forums as well as the refurb). Azatek does have an extra deal for first time buyers, though, 7-day period where they pay shipping both ways if something goes wrong or something like that.
