Considering you can get brand new, retail boxed, equally or better performing cards, (such as ATi X1900GT or X1950 GT), for around $100 to $120, this refurb/return for $99 seems cold.

Now at $60, the 7800 GTX is a good deal.
Just note that it is a 2 year old card, not a new in retail box version, one of the most power hungry cards out (requires much more power than the comparable ATi cards listed), and is not HDCP enabled like the other current cards mentioned are..

I had two windows going at it. One finished before the other and had the special. The other didn't, so I'm guessing they're sold out in less than 10 minutes. The special sucked, though, which means that at least one person was willing to pay $50 for a refurbished GeForce 6800 DDR 128MB. Not a good deal.

All right, I'm sitting here with the evga site on both firefox and IE7, Ctrl + R and F5 ready to refresh both as soon as 2pm atomic time hits


I would use IE7 but IE has screwed me before, this year my college (Penn State) had football tickets online. The sale started at 9am and I got in the virtual line right away, but my IE7 crashed while it was waiting in the virtual line and I didn't get football tickets. I was so fucking pissed I punched a hole in my dry wall. I now use Firefox for most things....


I bet this deal will suck or the site won't even load.

You're missing the point. You have to go with the flow of their definition of CRAZY deal. The grand prize for the scavenger hunt is getting to meet one of the top executives of the company. I'd much rather get one of those systems they're giving away...

I doubt they will put up an 8800, but we can always hope. They are probably limiting their "Crazy Deals" to the B-Stock that they have in stock (listed on the Web page). I would be happy if they put a 7950GT up on their "Crazy Deals" (256 or 512 MB).

Anyway, who is going to buy that old FX5900XT for $90? I would definitely go for the 6800GS CO instead for the same $$. I sure hope they don't put the FX5900XT up on their "Crazy Deals" or I will be very disappointed.

All of this is just speculation... We will have to wait and see (another 4 hours and counting).
