2nd update: It's still out of stock. Nevermind.

Update 08-08-04: I've been waiting and waiting for one more unit to become available, but no luck. You guys cleaned 'em out! One odd one came in on July 8th, so I snagged it. It was my second, and performed as well as my first, which is spectacular! I poked around their site today and found the COMPAQ S9500, which is NOT the identical unit, and I thought it was. It's a shadow mask. I ordered that for $119.00 and $18.00 shipping. Now I've got to cancel the friggen order...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Needed a monitor to match the recent HP a530e Pavilion purchase, and I stumbled onto this 19" HP, MFG. # P9009D for a bargain price. Best Options Direct has a decent rating, but I called there anyway to check them out. Got a really helpful, unhurried fellow, named Michael, to take my order on the evening of the 25th. Monstrous 52 lb. box was just delivered at noon today!
It's not an exact match for the Pavilion I bought, because it has a black base, but the bezel is the proper silver color. It's very heavy and pretty big, but the awesome image more than makes up for it. I will buy more of these for the rest of the family ASAP. I don't give a damn how big it is, it's flippin' beautiful... and cheap!
very tempting... do monitors differ a lot in IQ even when they use the same tube? i still have the lingering desire for a DP930...
Cripes, it's a buck and a half, order a half dozen! Picture is stunning, text is sharp, but put on a back brace before you lift it.
54.9 lbs, but feels like 75lbs because it's so awkward.
Honest to God, just buy it, you can't hardly lose. Shipping is less than $20.00 if it has to go back. Worth taking the chance IMO.
It's ruler flat horizontally and vertically. Picture's sharp from edge to edge and corner to corner. Bright, vivid and sharp. I see two more have sold since this topic was posted... better hurry!
One of those was me.
They charged me more for shipping, to Oregon is was $168 shipped. Still an excellent deal for a monitor that's almost $300 shipped new.
Thinking about ordering one more for myself, but I'll wait until the first one arrives and I evaluate it.
HP CRT monitor p930 Specs
Diamond Pro 930SB PDF Specs
Diamond Pro has different external dimensions, and different set of front panel controls. Resolutions match up as well as the weight. No doubt HP is trying to unload these behemoths. This is certainly NOT the kind of thing you're going to be carting from one LAN party to another!
I'll make room for a few more here. At the moment, a $150.00 sharp, vivid, CRT VS a $600.00 LCD is an easy choice.
I kinda wish I could be more sure it's the same as the 930sb. I mean it has the same res and weight and all, but couldn't it still have crappy electronics? and I have never had good luck with refurbished CRTs.
also, why do some sites say the 930sb has a "Diamondtron M2 (M-squared)" tube instead of a Diamondtron NF like the p930?
I asked ornery about it and he said he already packed it up in the box.
so we'll have to wait until other people get theirs, which should be very soon
I'm thinking about this monitor. 1600x1200 @ 85Hz yum. 1 year warranty. Fits my cheap glass desk's weight limit of 60lbs. Its been a year now since my 19" died and I've been staring at this old 15" trinitron way too long.
Yeah, I already packed it back up, but I shot this on its way to the test bench.
LMAO!!! actually this weighs less than alot of monitors I want...
Anyone who thinks this is heavy, you should try carrying big ass laser printers around.
Specs look decent. I used to have a 19" MAG shadow-mask CRT, it had a decently-sharp picture, but it died after about 2-3 years. Been using a 15" Compaq that's getting a tiny bit blurry. I really miss being able to run at 1600x1200 res, with readable text. Good-quality CRTs (as opposed to the cheap crap being sold at retail nowdays) are hard to find. My MAG orignally cost around $500 retail, and at that time, that was a decent price. Btw, do you happen to know if these monitors support BNC cables?
Anyone know how they deal with paypal payments? I didn't see any indication during checkout, and I don't have any of their other accepted CC's.
