Buyer Beware. Refurb zip drives are one thing, this seems quite another.

I have bought several referb moniter, and have not ever had a problem. You must check them out though, and see what the warrenty is on the moniters. Just use common sense when buying them, just like a used car, almost.

These certainly are newer Monitors with longer free waranty than secondwindpc has, but their prices reflect that. Hope their quality is as high as secondwindpc.

Thats not a deal, the Hitachi can be gotten for 300 every day on e b a y. Show us a real deal on a GOOD 21 ".

Anybody noticed the shipping charge? It is $25 for 17" but $50 for the 20" and higher. Now that is suspicious that they don't even list 19" monitors- because they gonna call them 20"? Just my $.2

Unfortunately I had a badly shipped 20" from secondwindpc. I've been trying to return the monitor to them but it took for quite a while. I'm getting a new one from monitorsdirect instead. With the high shipping cost, it's better to get from a reputable dealer. Any more suggestions other than monitorsdirect?

At those prices and with those warranties, I'd rather take a chance with a cheap but brand-new monitor, especially one from a local store that offers exchanges for defective merchandise, because monitor picture quality is almost always quite nowadays, even with the worst monitors. Furthermore, as Unknowndude pointed out, those used monitors haven't been _factory_ refurbished, meaning they've probably merely been repaired, and none of their high-wear or high-failure components in working condition have been replaced, a routine practice with factory rebuilding.
With a used but repaired monitor you may get a flyback with a voltage multiplier about to go south.
